Preah Vihear Province
Koh Ker Pyramid Temple
Koh Ker Pyramid Temple is a remarkable archaeological site and former capital of the Khmer Empire, hidden among the forests of Preah Vihear Province in northern Cambodia. At its heart stands Prasat Thom, an impressive seven tiered pyramid that rises dramatically above the surrounding landscape. Unlike the more familiar Angkorian temples, Koh Ker reflects a distinctive and ambitious period of Khmer architecture, art, and urban development during the 10th century.
