Located along the river, the Royal Palace is surrounded by beautiful gardens and elegant buildings with golden roofs. Highlights include the Throne Hall, where royal ceremonies and official events are held; the Moonlight Pavilion, an open-air venue for traditional Khmer dance; and the Silver Pagoda, famous for its floor covered with more than 5,000 silver tiles. The palace combines traditional Khmer features, such as tiered roofs and naga statues, with elegant European influences.

The Silver Pagoda houses priceless treasures, including the Emerald Buddha, made of crystal, and a life sized golden Buddha decorated with thousands of diamonds.

The Royal Palace is open daily, although some areas remain closed to the public for royal activities. Visitors should dress respectfully by covering their shoulders and knees. One of the highlights is the beautiful murals depicting scenes from the Reamker, Cambodia’s traditional version of the Ramayana, offering a glimpse into the country’s rich cultural heritage.
